Salary Range:$65,000.00 To $85,000.00 Annually

Summary:

The Financial Analyst plays a dual role, providing high-level financial analysis and strategic support while also managing administrative responsibilities for the president of Island Insurance. This position requires proactive thinking, strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to support executive decision-making. 

This role is critical to the organization’s strategic and compliance objectives, requiring independent judgment, discretion, and expertise to analyze and compile reports. The position involves document preparation for executive meetings, maintaining confidential records, and ensuring smooth operations across departments.  

This position works collaboratively and professionally in independently assisting other executives, external parties, and staff as needed. The position routinely interacts with a broad array of internal and external constituents and represents the organization in a highly professional manner. Additionally, this position has access to highly sensitive information requiring application of judgment, discretion and confidentiality at all times.

Job Duties:

  • Executive Administrative Support (40%)
    • Performs a broad range of administrative details, some of a highly confidential nature, initiative and strong follow through.
    • Answers and screens telephone calls and greets visitors, many of higher profile, and redirects them as necessary.
    • Maintains Outlook calendar for the president and other executives as requested.
    • Regularly schedules and arranges meetings, conferences, and appointments.
    • Arranges confidential meetings between governmental, business, and other community leaders.
    • Organizes travel arrangements for President and executives for frequent and extended travel.
    • Generates correspondence and report drafts; reviews and edits grammar, punctuation, or spelling as needed.
    • Opens and reviews all mail directed to the Executive Office, including mail for the President and other executives.
    • Composes responses to routine inquiries, redirects mail as necessary, and ensures that appropriate documents (such as check requests, donation requests, claim checks) are complete before forwarding them to President and executives.
    • Attends meetings, conferences, and special events as requested.
    • Provides administrative support to other departments as needed. 
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting (25%)
    • Conduct financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support executive decision-making.
    • Prepare reports and performance dashboards to assess business trends, profitability, and operational efficiency.
    • Analyze key business metrics.
    • Assist in financial planning, including expense management, investment analysis, and cost-saving initiatives.
    • Collaborate with department teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
    • Prepare presentations and reports for board meetings, leadership discussions, and regulatory compliance.
    • Populates the annual budget template for the Executive Office, primarily based on actual expenses recorded by Accounting. Prepares for review by the President, discussion, and approval.
  • Operational & Strategic Support (25%)
    • Support corporate strategy initiatives.
    • Participate in insurance industry research and provide insights on regulatory changes and emerging risks.
    • Work closely with department heads to ensure alignment of financial goals with business objectives.
  • Event Coordination (10%)
    • Coordinates or assists in coordinating events such as monthly President’s Lunches, President’s Quarterly Meetings, Executive Committee Meetings, and various other events which may be of interest to President.
      • Responsibilities may include:
        • Inviting internal and/or external attendees
        • Securing venues and facilities
        • Ensuring appropriate amenities are provided
        • Formatting PowerPoint presentations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, business strategy, or executive support, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience will be considered.
